U.S. Space and Rocket Center hit with temporary restraining order in Space Racers case

On late Tuesday, a judge in New York state issued a temporary restraining order against the U.S. Space and Rocket Center (USSRC) concerning a $1.3 million dollar arbitration award by Space Race, LLC. The order prevents the USSRC from further pursuing a previously reported second lawsuit filed by the USSRC late last week in a Madison County, Alabama court. The New York court has scheduled a hearing on March 8th to hear arguments on both sides concerning the proper venue for the proceedings to either affirm or disaffirm the $1.3 million award from an arbitration panel.  This temporary restraining order is expected to delay a February 25th emergency hearing that was ordered today by an Alabama judge.

Although no official agenda has been released by the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission Business Committee, the matter is expected to be discussed during their regularly scheduled monthly meeting today.  Notes and updates from that meeting will be published shortly after the meeting takes place.
